We are hitting the road again next week and heading down to Chocolate Town (Hershey, PA) for the fantastic Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show that will be held at Hersheypark. The show starts Monday but the first two days are trade days where the dealers can meet with manufacturers to discuss the new 2012 models on display and place their orders before the official opening of the show on Wednesday.
Public days are Wednesday through Sunday and if you have never been to this show, it really is something you'll want to put on your bucket list or simply jump in your car or RV next week and head down to Hershey for an RV experience you will truly enjoy.
One of the best things about this show is the way it is set up. Unlike traditional RV shows where you have several dealers showing the same products and you have to visit them all to see who might have the particular model you want to see, here they set up the show by manufacturer and all the models are in one display. If you are looking for a new Itasca (by Winnebago Industries) you simply find the Winnebago display and all of their motorhomes are right there waiting for you.
The reason I chose Winnebago for my example is that we will be traveling in a new 2012 Itasca Sunova 30A gas motorhome while doing a product review and livability report for Family Motor Coaching Magazine that will appear early next year.
Another great feature of this show is the stellar lineup of seminars conducted by some of the most respected experts in the RV industry today. One of my favorites is Gary Bunzer, better known as The RV Doctor. Gary has forgotten more about RVs than most of us will ever know. His technical expertise has been welcomed by RVers since 1968. Gary continues to author technical articles, produce Do-It-Yourself RV Care DVDs, and provides instructional and entertaining educational presentations.
Ever think of going full-timing and working as you enjoy the RV lifestyle. If so then you will want to sit in on Bernie Jsawzewski's informative seminars on finding work, earning money and seeing this great country. We brought Bernie in for seminars at the Boston RV & Camping Expo the past two years and he received great reviews from all who sat in on his sessions.
The more you understand the importance of RV Safety, the more you will enjoy your RV. Nobody teaches RV safety better than Walter Cannon, Executive Director of the RV Safety and Education Foundation. Walter will be conducting two seminars at the Hershey show; Weight and Tire Safety and Matching Trucks to Trailers. When you get tired of walking through all the RV displays outdoors, take a break and take in Walter's informative seminars and learn everything you should know about driving down the road safely and confidently.
As we did when we were on the road with the A.C.E. motorhome a few months ago (see below) we'll do a few Observations from the Road to give you our impressions of the Sunova motorhome and the PRVCA Show in Hershey.
